Visual Kei Tie by brecelle Visual Kei Tie by brecelle
thx a lot for watching! :)

i'm very proud of this one since i've just started sewing in general and i hope you like it as well! :D

the tie consists of 100% cotton. i made it with a sewing-machine and decorated it with studs, stencil color, laces, eyelets, safety pins and chains. it also features a lining out of rayon.

It just so happens I really, really want a tie, and this tie is amazing O_O! How on Earth did you do it? **Knows nothing about this, but I want to learn!**

I hope you won't feel bad if I inspire my future tie on this!

I love Visual Kei!

And I love this art !

wow, thanks a lot!!:meow:

no, i won't feel bad if my work inspires you! i'm honoured! you should do it!! :D

funny thing is i'm not really an experienced seamstress myself. so i didn't use any patterns.

i started with red scrim and drew the shape of the tie on the backside (keep in mind that it has to be symmetrical and you make it long enough to do a slipknot later on).

the next step was to cut it out with an amount of seam allowance and then ironing the selvedges. do the same things with a fabric you want on the back side (i used black rayon).

next you pin both sides together, then you sew them with a sewing machine (it's best to match the colours of upper and under thread with your fabric's colours) and try to sew as nearly on the selvedge as possible.

then you can start decorating it! just be creative! start with stencil colours (used a template for some letters, the rest is painted freely) then put some studs, laces, eyelets and chains on it.

my personal finish was to do the slipknot around a chain so you can wear it like a necklace. looks pretty cool to my mind, but if you leave enough fabric for a normal slipknot to begin with you can also fold it like any other tie.

I hope I was able to help you! if you still have questions feel free to ask!

GO FOR IT!! :w00t:

Hello!
So sorry for the late reply T_T' I got eaten;; And, I am especially sorry, since you've explained so much to me, in great detail. And I thank you, so much =D!

I think I understood it quite a lot, and I think the slipknot idea is such a cool idea *_*!!! But one thing I didn't know was, what the 'scrim' material is. (I'm a bit useless;; Aha) Is it easy to buy in art and craft shops? =D"

Really, I shall do this T_T' Its too cool, and it is even possible now because I can always come back to your comment, and find out how to do it!

Thank you so much Bracelle *Hug!!*

it's my pleasure! :D
don't be sorry for the delay, i'm also an expert in late answering! :XD:
oh, sorry...scrim is kinda complicated i guess. sometimes i get a bit lost in my dictionary, cause english is not my native language! ^^; it's just another word for cotton! and that should be purchasable in most art and craft shops!
i'm happy to have helpeld! and be sure to upload your result! i'd love to see it! :eager:
